Family Portrait Photographer Watford

Family Portrait Photographer – covering Watford and surrounding areas.

I recently returned to see a lovely family near Watford that I have visited for Family portraits over the years.  They had recently had baby number four so it was an absolutely pleasure to visit them at home and take some natural outdoor portrait photographs of them all.  It is always wonderful for a family portrait photographer to see how children have grown and changed and to see them playing with the latest member of the family.

I love to just capture families being themselves and the children just playing and messing around.  When there are four children in a family it all gets a bit chaotic (I speak from experience being one of four) but actually for me it is all part of the fun being able to capture a little bit of that chaos.

We started off getting some lovely fun action shots of them all.   There were lots and lots of photos from this session but here are a few favourites.

Some of my favourite family portraits are when children are a bit more serious – the little girl had been messing about with her dad and he was hanging her upside down and messing around – after all the silliness she ended up wanting a big cuddle.  I just adore this image her giving her dad a great big hug – her expression is just gorgeous.

I always love to get a family portrait that includes everyone – never easy with a big family.  But we managed to get a few

It doesn’t take long for things to descend into chaos so for a bit of fun here are a couple of outtakes:)

Children’s Photographer Rushden, Northamptonshire

I’m a Children’s Photographer covering Rushden in Northamptonshire.  Today on the blog a lovely session which I did recently in Rushden in Northamptonshire.  This little chap was just a total delight and it was great to get some images of him with his family.  Children’s photography sessions are great outdoors as children really enjoy having freedom to potter about and explore.  The family lived right near Hall Park in Rushden which make a great spot for our early morning photo session.  We were out bright and early with all the dog walkers and he was just fascinated looking at all the dogs.

As a specialist children’s photographer I love to capture the family just interacting with each other and playing with their child, so we went for a bit of an explore in the park and a play on the swings along the way.

The park is in the grounds of the wonderful Rushden Hall a fabulous wedding venue – it’s a beautiful building and was covered in gorgeous Wisteria which made a great background for some of the portraits.

At the end of the portrait session we went back indoors and got some great shots of the little fella having a mess about on the bed.  He had a great time and the last image is definitely one of my recent favourite shots for the sheer joy on his face.

Children’s Portraits in Hertfordshire

Children’s Photographer covering Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Children’s Location photography is one of my favourite parts of my job.  It is so nice to be able to go to people’s homes for family portrait sessions – not only are the children happy on their own territory but you can have easy changes of clothes if need be and children have their favourite toys around them.  This also makes the sessions more personal as the environment is somewhere the children have spent some or all of their childhood and baby years.

Occasionally there are challenges with lighting but it is part of my job to ensure that I find the best places to take your images so this really isn’t a problem and is not a reason to assume that it won’t be possible for me to shoot in your home.   We will also shoot outdoors – it would have to be absolutely pouring with rain to stop energetic children wanting to have a run about outside.

This is a session from a few weeks ago – it was lovely spending time with this family and their three gorgeous lively children.  I work all around the Hertfordshire area but this session took place around Wheathampstead / St Albans.

We started out with a mixture of shots in the garden with the children playing and getting to know me.  I do love a good bit of fun on the trampoline to get a session going in the right direction.

Then at the end of the session we went for a little walk and a play in the woods.

A couple of days ago I dropped off a beautiful portrait album – a selection of frames (a couple shown below) and some back up digital files.  So lovely to see the family again and leave them with some precious memories.

Family Portrait Photographer Olney

Family Portrait Photographer Olney

I recently did a lovely outdoor portrait session in Olney.  We decided to go to the playground by the recreation ground and football club, after which we went down to the bottom of the field by the river as this is somewhere the children like to go all the time.  With these sorts of outdoor sessions it is always great when the locations we choose mean something to the family.

Despite the fact it was a miserable drizzly day we went outside and everyone had a great time.  Children often don’t mind about the weather and I don’t mind either but its wonderful when the parents and even the baby are game to be outside whatever the weather.

The children were great fun and it was really wonderful to capture their different personalities along the way via some portrait shots and some action shots. See if you can spot the crazy one !

We started at the playground initially.

Then we headed down to the river – I loved the look of the willow trees in the background.   I also loved the way the little one just went with the flow.

Then we headed back home in the drizzle.

The  little baby had completely zonked out in all the excitement, so I popped back one morning to get a couple of her playing on the bed – look at those lovely squiggy arms and that belly.   Hope you enjoyed this Portrait Session on a rainy day in Olney.
