Family Portrait Photographer St Albans

Family portrait photographer St Albans – I’m a mobile photographer so I cover St Albans, Harpenden and other areas of Hertfordshire as well as Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.  This lovely family were based in Harpenden and wanted some relaxed family portraits of them with their beautiful little toddler.

There are many wonderful things about being a family portrait photographer but one of the them is that my job means I met lovely lovely families that I may otherwise not have met.  It really is a privilege to be able to get to know them and create beautiful memories for them to cherish.

This little girl was just gorgeous and so much fun.  She had a lovely smile and gorgeous big eyes with amazing eyelashes that  I couldn’t help but photograph – I love a good eyelash shot!  There was the odd serious portrait but mostly she just giggled.

Bunny – one of her favourite toys joined us for the shoot as did a rather hilarious purple emu.

We took some images indoors and then went outside for a while – it was still a bit chilly as the long-awaited Spring hadn’t arrived but it didn’t matter – she looked adorable in her little coat.   Then we had some fun bouncing around on the bed before she wore herself out and went off to sleep.  I managed to capture a lovely sleepy shot at the end.

Hope you enjoy the images from this family portrait session in St Albans with a gorgeous family

I have some lovely new shabby chic style frames so I was delighted when the family decide to select these frames for their walls.   They chose a wonderful 9-image multi frame with a few favourites from the session and a lovely single frame to show off their favourite image of the three of them.

Bluebells-Portrait Photographer Milton Keynes

Bluebells in Filgrave – Portraits

As a portrait photographer in Milton Keynes I have many clients in Olney, Filgrave, Newton Blossomville, Emberton and surrounding villages.  I am always on the look out for great places to take outdoor images.  I always love taking images in the woods and images that show what season it is so for me the bluebells season is always perfect for shoots.

Traditionally I take a picture of my own daughter every year in the bluebell woods – in 8 years we have missed 2 sessions – having a portrait photographer for a mother means she has to help me out – she doesn’t get much choice!   In her very first year she was 6 months old when the bluebells came out and I hadn’t really thought about doing a portrait shoot in the bluebell woods.  Then again one year later we were on holiday and missed the very short  “window” for these shoots.  But the year after that I started the shoots and so far have not missed a year.  If you’d like to see shots from previous years check out the blog post here.

I have been waiting for the chance to do my annual shoot but the bluebells were later this year and since they appeared the weather has not been too friendly.  I’m happy to brave the elements to get the shots but I have to convince the subjects as well.

So with much persuasion I got my daughter to agree to our annual shoot – we headed to the woods at Filgrave near in Buckinghamshire as I had heard the bluebells were lovely there.  We nipped down after school and managed a whole 5 minutes of frantic shooting before the rain came.  It was only about 8 degrees and freezing cold … all credit to my little girl for some fantastic I’m-not-cold-its-a-lovely-spring-day acting !!!

Hope you enjoy these images – I love seeing how my daughter changes each year:)

This last image I love – I just snapped this in the mirror while the little one was getting changed in the back of the car:)

Newborn baby portraits at home ~ Olney

I take newborn baby portraits in your own home.

This can be a very relaxing way of getting images of your new baby in those first precious days when they are so small.  Newborn portraits are best taken within the first 2 weeks as the baby is still small enough to curl up.  Babies this young also still very sleepy and some poses can only be achieved when the baby is in a deep sleep.  Newborn babies are only tiny for a very short time so getting these baby portraits early is really very special.  Life gets hectic once the baby arrives and time can pass very quickly so its best to book in when you are pregnant and we can adjust the shoot day accordingly.

Photographing families and babies is one of my favourite bits of this job – seeing the family welcome their new addition is just wonderful and I usually get to have a bit of a baby cuddle which is a great bonus and something I love !

I can take newborn baby portraits in your home or I shortly hope to have a newborn baby studio for you to visit.  Either option will result in really special images for you to treasure of your new baby.

I particularly enjoyed this session as the mum and dad are a former bride and groom of mine from the old days when my business was mostly wedding photography.  I love catching up with old clients and seeing how they are, I also photographed their older daughter as a newborn and her images are still among my favourite newborn images ever and can be seen in my newborn gallery ….. however she is a bigger now … bit of a cheeky monkey and totally gorgeous !!
