Yearly Archives: 2012

Some of my gorgeous familes from 2012

This year has been an amazing year for Siobhan Murphy Photography.  Running your own photography business or indeed any business is hard work – especially in these difficult times, but its especially hard in this industry where new photographers are setting up all the time and there is so much competition – so I’m very grateful to all my lovely clients for choosing me to capture their special memories for them.

It’s been a busy year where I’ve obtained my Master Photographer Qualifications and pushed myself to reach some personal goals in the business and I’ve enjoyed all the ups and downs.

I’ve been lucky enough to photograph some wonderful tiny newborn babies, some beautiful expectant mothers, lovely fun families and crazy little toddlers that don’t do anything you’d like them to do – all fabulous fun.

Capturing the love within a family is a really special thing to be able to do and I really do enjoy every minute of it – especially the reactions of parents seeing the images of their children.   I wish all of you a wonderful Christmas and New Year with your families.  I will be taking some time off to spend with my own family and I’ll be back blogging lots gorgeous happy images again in 2013 – assuming of course the world doesn’t end tomorrow !   So just in case the world does end – here are just some of the special moments I was fortunate to photograph during the past year.  I hope you enjoy them. .. tried to narrow it down but it was hard – sorry if your shoot isn’t featured.

Newborn Baby Photography, Northamptonshire & Leicestershire

Photographing newborn babies is one of my favourite things about being a family portrait photographer in Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.   I also often do portrait photography in Leicestershire and this session took place a couple of months ago in Loughborough.   Lots of my new sessions are being kept secret for Christmas presents so I’m blogging a mixture of shoots at the moment.

This little chap was 10 days old when I took the first set of pictures and he slept like a dream – so much so that there were no shots of him awake.  There was a slight problem which resulted in me returning a week later and we got some fabulous shots of him awake on round two.  The double session actually meant there was a lovely range to choose from.  We took newborn images both inside and outside and unlike some newborn photographers who only photograph the baby I always like to include the whole family – after all – the parents are the whole reason the baby is here.  I had lots of favourites from this session but here are a few.

Portrait Photographer Olney, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire

As a family photographer based in Olney, Buckinghamshire I also cover surrounding areas such as Milton Keynes, Northampton, Newport Pagnell and Bedford.  This session took place near Olney for a lovely family with a gorgeous little 1 year old boy.  He was so much fun – one year old children are fabulous, they just laugh and giggle and snuggle up, they are still squiggy and cuddly and they just make me smile.   This session took place on a nice bright Autumn morning so we braved the cold and took a few outdoor shots and then let the little fella loose jumping all over the bed.  Here are some of my favourites from this Family Portrait Session in Olney.  I hope you like them.

Portrait Photographer Hertfordshire, Bump Photos Watford

I recently undertook a lovely family portrait photography session in Watford.  The family are regulars of mine and it was great to see the crazy little girlies again and to photograph Bump Number Three !  Its always good to include the colours of the season, so we started out with the whole family taking some fun shots in the Autumn leaves and then moved inside for some gentle bump shots.  Looking forward to meeting the new baby in a few weeks time.

Children’s Portrait Photographer Emberton & Olney

As a children’s and family portrait photographer based near Olney in Buckinghamshire, I’m lucky to have some beautiful scenic parks right on my doorstep for photoshoots – Emberton Park, Stanwick Lakes, Harrold Park and many more.

This family portrait session in Buckinghamshire took place at Emberton Park a short while back and the family actually won the session in an auction that was raising money for the Special Care Baby Unit (Gosset Ward) at Northampton Hospital – a cause very close to the hearts of this family and many many more like them.

Here’s a selection from the day – starting with a fabulous one of the little chap to melt your heart:)  The light was dreadful in the last image and casting shadows but I loved the dreamy look of the willow trees in the background so I’ve left it in here anyway.  Hope you enjoy them.
