Cameras with actual film in_ Flashback Friday

I’m very excited this Friday because my sister bought me a Diana F Lomography camera.  I know what you are thinking … what the hell is that ?  Well it’s a cute little thing, weighs nothing, looks like a FisherPrice toy and uses real film.  The images look a bit like those ones you get using hipstamatic on the iphone – but this isn’t an app its a real camera.  So I’m busy finding out where I can buy film and more importantly where I can send it for processing …… wierd and very retro !!

Photographing the family of another photographer

Photographers, as you would expect, take tons of pictures of their children and family but are never in the pictures themselves as they are always on the other side of the camera.  A few years ago I did a course with the wonderful David A. Williams and we all promised that we would photograph another photographers family.  Two lovely photographers Carole Kelly and Nigel Ord Smith have done the honors for me so I have some gorgeous pictures of me and my daughter, but I had yet to fulfill the promise myself.  I was therefore delighted (and terrified!!) when Helen Bailey asked if I could take some pictures of her, her husband Shaun and their beautiful little boy Lucas as this seemed the perfect opportunity to keep my promise.  Lucas is a twin and he and his brother Morgan were born at just 27 weeks.  Both boys were looked after by the incredible staff on Gosset Ward – the neonatal intensive care ward at Northampton General hospital.  Sadly the family lost Morgan who slipped away at 18 days old.  They are fundraising in support of Gosset Ward .. and information on how to help is at the end of this post.

Lucas was 6 months old (or 3 months corrected age depending how you look at it) when I went to visit him and what a little bundle of utter gorgeousness he is  – with the cutest smile and eyelashes to die for … already charming the ladies despite his tender age –  he certainly charmed me !!

Taking pictures for another photographer is very very nerve wracking but once I got over my initial terror,  I had a great time and wanted to share some of my favourite images from this session with you.

See – check out those eyelashes – gorgeous aren’t they !

Shaun recently completed the 3 peaks challenge in support of Gosset ward and the wonderful work they do –  and it is still possible to donate on the justgiving site  http://www.justgiving.com/shaun-bailey/

We photographers are in a very very unique position, we have it within our power to give someone the most precious gift imaginable – images of their loved ones to treasure for ever.    Helen & Shaun & Lucas – thank you for the opportunity:)xx

Family Portraits in Bushey Hertfordshire

Here are some recent family and baby pictures taken in Hertfordshire.  Images can be taken in your own home or garden and this usually makes children feel more comfortable – especially little ones who prefer to be in their own surroundings with their own toys.  Babies at around 5/6 months are escitalopram buy online great to photograph as they are sitting up and getting really interested in things around them.  Here are a few from the session.

I particularly like the first one as the little fella looks very unsure about whether or not he wants to be a Jedi !

Newborn Baby Photos in Wellingborough

As a newborn photographer based near Olney Buckinghamshire,  I photograph babies of many different ages but I really love newborns – I often get little ones at just a few days or a few weeks old.  This lovely little girl was 20 days old when I went to see her and she was a little star – quite the supermodel !   Here are a selection of just a few of the images – there were so many to chose from because she was so lovely to photograph.  Hope you like them.
