Portraits of Children_Olney_Milton Keynes

As a portrait photographer based near Olney I am lucky to have lots of beautiful parks and outdoor areas to take families for portrait sessions.  This particular session took place on the Wollaston Playing Fields as I was photographing  two little boys who love the outdoors and there were trees to climb ativan online purchase and great hiding places, and lots of sticks to play sword fighting – an ideal spot for some fun photos.

Here’s a selection of my favourite images from the session – I hope you like them.

Outdoor Family Portraits_Chesham

One of the things I try to do with my family portrait sessions (weather depending of course) is to choose a location that is meaningful to the family.  So for this location portrait session in chesham we went down to a lovely little wood alongside a stream where the children play all the time – that way the years later the photos become a really good memory of somewhere that the children spent hours playing when they were young.

Here are a few of my favourite ones – hope you like them.

Trip to County Kerry_Ireland

Recently had a little trip to County Kerry in Ireland – beautiful area.  We had a lovely relaxing time. Here are a few of the pictures from the trip – I would like the add the disclaimer that I am not a landscape photographer:)

We stayed at beautiful place overlooking the Killarney Lakes – first pic is the view from the Bar and Terrace and it was a lovely walk through the woods down into Killarney Town.

From Killarney you can easily take trips out to the beautiful Dingle Peninsula and Slea Head area – which is a stunning coastline.  We didn’t meet Fungie the famous Dingle Dolphin who gets chased around the harbour by tour boats most of the day but we did say hello to his replica on the harbourfront.

The Rhododendron bushes were in full bloom and looked gorgeous – although they are a problem in the Killarney National Park where they choke the other plants and trees.

We also visited Inch beach which was gorgeous – and the little one had fun in the sand dunes ..

Testing out the famous Murphy Ice Cream in Dingle was a must ..and we took a great trip round The Ring of Kerry – which was lovely too.

The little one is finding her way very successfully round my D700 camera and took the last picture – which I thought was pretty good … early retirement on the cards:)

Beautiful part of the world and as always wonderful hospitable locals.

Childrens Photography Workshop with Bella West

As with any practical or creative skill its important to keep learning, improving and pushing yourself to get better at what you do, so Photographers undertake a variety of different training courses on a regular basis.  I’ve been an admirer of Bella West’s beautiful images – particularly of children – for some time and so it was fabulous to have the opportunity to learn from her on a one day course at the Larmer Tree Gardens in Salisbury.  We had the opportunity to photograph some gorgeous children, in a wonderful setting and it was a fantastic experience.  Often you can get into habits when doing photo sessions and fall back on your comfort zone so its really good to get an alternative perspective on how to approach a session, to look at things completely differently and use an environment in a different way.

I came away very inspired and (as Bella promised) on the lookout for doorways and lovely bits of architecture to use for framing.  There were many many images from the day that I could show you but here are a few of my favourite images …

Newborn Baby Portraits in Hertfordshire

This blog post features newborn baby portraits in Great Gaddesdon of my  youngest model so far – a gorgeous little girl aged just 5 days.  She was a real star and a perfect model and I was able to get a combination of sleepy shots and shots where she was awake and alert.  Newborn sessions take as long as we need to take buy accutane online paypal working around the needs of the baby and making the session relaxing for baby and parents alike.  There was an added bonus for me in that this little lady is the new daughter to two friends I’ve known for many years so it was particularly lovely for me to see their little family of three … :)  I had so many favourite shots it was difficult to choose .. but here are a few from the session. Congratulations again on your beautiful baby girl !
